Our Story
Larkspur Coffee Roasters began in 2014 when founder Mae Holloway returned from a two-year stint volunteering on coffee farms in Ethiopia and Colombia. Transformed by the care and craft she witnessed at origin, she set up a 12-kg drum roaster in a rented barn on the outskirts of Portland and started roasting with one simple rule: let the farmer's work speak for itself.
Today we roast three days a week, ship the same day, and maintain direct relationships with eleven farm families across four continents. We pay above fair-trade minimums on every single lot — not as a marketing bullet point, but because it's the only way to keep the right people farming exceptional coffee.
Direct Trade
We visit every farm we work with at least once a year, building relationships that outlast a single harvest.
Roasted Fresh to Order
We roast Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Orders ship within 24 hours of roasting.
Community First
Our roastery café donates 1% of revenue to the Portland Food Bank every month.
